Types of Commercial HVAC Systems You Could Consider

Here are some commercial HVAC systems that you could consider installing for your business.

If you’re running a business, one thing you’ll need to do is invest in a quality air conditioning system. After all, it’s important to keep your employees and customers comfortable whenever they’re inside of your building. The question becomes: which air conditioner should you get? Here are some commercial HVAC systems that you could consider installing for your business.

Single-Split Systems

These types of air conditioning systems come with one compressor, as well as a refrigerant, furnace, and evaporator coil. You’ll typically use a single-split air conditioning system if your building is smaller. These systems are not suitable for larger properties.

Multi-Split Systems

A multi-split air conditioning system shares some similarities with single-split systems, as the name may suggest. The main distinction with multi-split systems is that you’ll have multiple indoor units that get connected to one outdoor unit.

While single-split and multi-split systems are similar in name, they are not similar with regards to which business should use them. Single-split commercial HVAC systems are better for smaller businesses, but multi-split systems are designed to be used on larger buildings.

Variable Air Volume (VAV)

The way that VAV systems work is that they generate constant comfortable temperatures by moderating the airflow in the building. We recommend these commercial HVAC systems if your building has multiple rooms. This is because each individual room can receive different levels of airflow, allowing every room to be heated or cooled, as necessary. Conversely, you should avoid using this type of HVAC system if you have a single-space building.

Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF)

VRF commercial HVAC systems take refrigerant, and use it as both a cooling and heating medium. The refrigerant is transferred to whichever area of the building needs it the most at the time, and these systems are incredibly energy-efficient. While we don’t recommend using this type of system for bigger indoor assembly areas, we do recommend them for many other spaces, such as mixed-use facilities.
