Every so often, you’ll find that your air conditioning unit has some problems. You might not know how to deal with them but luckily, many issues are relatively easy to fix. Here are some tips for what you should do.
Water is Leaking Everywhere
If there is even a small leak, you shouldn’t ignore the problem. All leaks, regardless of their size, need to be addressed as it can lead to worse water damage, such as the possibility of flooding. The drain pipes for condensation have probably clogged. To resolve this, examine the water line. Determine where the blockage might be and call our experts for assistance. A wet-vac could be all you need, but you won’t know for sure unless you have the benefit of professional expertise on-site to diagnose the extent of the problem and how to fix it.
The Unit is Cycling On and Off
Another problem you might often encounter is when the air conditioning unit continually cycles on and then turns off again. In most cases, this is just a part of how it should operate normally. Still, when it cycles too often you’ll have to put up with excessive noise that can get annoying. One major reason for this is that you have chosen the wrong size of air conditioning unit, and it’s either too big or too small for your home. Also, take some time to check on the condition of the built-in evaporator coils. The coils could be causing the problem, and you wouldn’t even realize it. Try replacing the existing filter and see if that makes a difference.
The Air Isn’t Cool Enough
If you find that the air is still too warm, you have some options. Try changing out the air filter. Close up any leaks that may be present in the side of your home, your air conditioner, or even your ductwork. In case there is worn-out insulation, you will need to replace it too.
