Winter is almost over. Still, there are bound to be some cold days ahead. What can you do about it? Get some replacement heating systems into play. Here is how you can make the right choice.
The Furnace
Furnaces are also known as forced air systems. They are bound to be the systems you see most often all across the country. Their popularity comes from how reliable they are. With proper maintenance, you can improve how efficient they are as well. Every furnace is evaluated for performance based on their ratings; these ratings fall along the scale of AFUE, or annual fuel utilization efficiency. One reason to give furnaces a second look – newer units can rate up to 97%!
The Boiler
The next system is called the boiler. These appliances boil water before pushing them through the pipes installed inside your home. However, these pipes are not connected to your existing plumbing system. The boiler is connected to radiators by the pipes, and the radiators help spread the hot water to each of the rooms to provide more warmth. Walls and floors are also warmed by this method, which should help when getting in or out of the shower in the morning!
The Heat Pump
The heat pump is the third system that most homeowners should consider using. Compared to the other two, this is the most efficient way to heat your home. Unlike the other two, though, you can also rely on the heat pump to help cool your home during spring and summer. It extracts heat from the air and then directs it to where it is needed. It usually draws warm air in, but it can also expel it out to help cool you down when the months start to get hotter outside. Depending on where you live along the east coast, you could find this attribute most appealing!
